Not far from the main university in Vienna, the Krypt.bar to find. Although "find" is probably not the right word here, because the bar is so well hidden that you can only find it if you know where to look. There isn't even a sign pointing to the bar at Wasagasse 17.

We looked for Krypt.bar and found it. A narrow staircase leads through black glass doors far down into an architectural jewel that extends over around 250 square meters. Rarely has a bar in a cellar in Vienna been so generously laid out.

A real highlight are the Buchteln at Café Hawelka. Josefine Hawelka, the wife of Leopold Hawelka (the owner of the café) baked the famous Austrian dessert until her death in 2005.

The delicious Buchteln can still be sampled today at Café Hawelka. Together with a Viennese Melange, you can immerse yourself in real Viennese history. You can't get any more Viennese than that!
