Pack your swimming trunks and jump into the cool water! With hot temperatures and sparkling water, it's particularly good to splash around. But what if you prefer to avoid crowds and are looking for a chlorine-free alternative? Don't worry - we have selected the best natural bathing spots in Vienna for you. One thing is guaranteed: It will be refreshingly cool, relaxing and 100 percent free of chemicals.

Kaiserwasser, 1220 Vienna

Chlorine-free bathing fun awaits you in an idyllic location just a few minutes’ walk from the “Kaisermühlen VIC” underground station. This side arm of the old danube is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful natural bathing spots in Vienna and impresses not only with the view of the surrounding buildings but also with its imposing trees.

The sunbathing area is located directly opposite the "Gänsehäufel" and offers plenty of sunny and shady spots to chill out. The sunset from there is particularly beautiful and we advise you to wait for it. You won't be disappointed!

A special plus: Dogs are also allowed here and are very welcome. The lying area is neither "dirty" nor does it smell like "wet dog", which means that everyone can feel completely at ease, both dogs and humans. The water is also clear and clean and invites you to extensive bathing fun with family and friends.

Wienerbergteich, 1100 Vienna

The bathing paradise in the 10th district of Vienna surprises with lots of green space and is a true oasis of retreat for everyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. You can swim wonderfully in the Wienerbergteich and the sunbathing lawns all around offer enough space to soak up the sun afterwards. The pond is surrounded by a large reed belt in which rare songbirds nest - a true paradise for animal lovers.

The Wienerberg pond is easily accessible by public transport. This location is also very attractive for dog owners, as the four-legged friends can also cool off in the water.

Our tip: bring enough provisions with you, because once you have discovered this place for yourself, you will not leave it again so quickly.

Danube Island, 1210 Vienna

Enjoy fresh air, experience a holiday feeling and switch off completely? You can do this in the idyllic bathing bays on the Danube Island. Numerous shore steps and around 50 floating platforms make it easy for you to get into the cool water.

The bathing areas of the Lobau are a real insider tip for all green lovers. Because it can hardly be more natural.

The Lobau with its beautiful landscape of water, forest and meadows extends to the east of Vienna, north of the Danube to the Slovakian border. Bathing is permitted in the marked areas (e.g. Dechant or Panozza Lacke).

A real paradise for lovers and nudists, but also normal swimmers will find their private bay.

The bathing areas of the Lobau can be reached on foot or by bike via well-signposted paths, and dogs are also allowed here.

Süssenbrunn Lake, 1220 Vienna

This bathing area is one of the most beautiful natural bathing areas in Vienna and is the perfect place to unwind.

Due to the location, not too many Viennese make their way here, which is why the bathing pond is never really overcrowded, even in the best summer weather. Whoever starts the path will be rewarded with clean and cool water. Dogs are also allowed to splash around here to their heart's content.

With this in mind: Don't forget sunscreen and nothing stands in the way of total relaxation. Have fun swimming and soaking up the sun!
