This word comes from Czech and describes the typical wooden balconies that used to serve as entrances to houses. Four excellent restaurants meet in the inner courtyard of Vienna Margareten in the palace square. The Silberwirt inn, the Pizzeria Margareta, the steak restaurant Gergely's and the Café Cuadro. Together they form the centre of the historic inner courtyard, the roots of which go back to the 14th century. Margareten Castle nestles all around with the castle garden, which once served as a mulberry school for Vienna's city gardens. Today it is a place of social activity away from the tourist hotspots.
